White Motorcycle Helmets - nolan n80-8

Nolan N80-8: Buy on RevZilla

1. Nolan N80-8

Nolan Helmets is an Italian motorcycle helmet manufacturer based in Brembate di Sopra in the province of Bergamo. It is one of the largest helmet manufacturers in Europe.

The Nolan N80-8 was created to celebrate the original N01 helmet and the company’s 50th anniversary. I consider the N80-8 a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ helmet, as it seems to be usable daily with a naked bike, with an ADV bike for long rides, or more.

This helmet offers the comfort you would expect from a decently-priced helmet. It has an internal sun visor, a quick-release buckle, removable cheek pads, and a good number of vents to keep your head cool during rides.

Some of the things I appreciate about the N80-8 are the quick-release buckle and the Pinlock lens insert. As a white motorcycle helmet, the N80-8 is also stunning.

If you wear eyeglasses, you would also appreciate the helmet having gaps between the pads so your eyewear could slide in nicely.

2. Scorpion EXO VX-16

Scorpion Sports was founded in 2002 and is known for its motorcycle helmet design and manufacturing innovation. You may have heard of some of ScorpionEXO’s proprietary technology, like the:

  • AirFit® inflation system,
  • EverClear® no-fog face shields, and
  • KwikWick® moisture-wicking liners.

The VX-16 includes the AirFit® and KwikWick® technology but not the EverClear®. This is a dirt bike helmet, which means face shields are not included.

Instead, the helmet has an impressive number of vents peppered all over it. These vents should help cool you down as you tackle the mud and execute the jumps.

There is also a goggle port that should take in most popular goggles. The peak extender helps to protect your face from the sun and some rain and can be detached without tools.

Safety-wise, the VX-16 is DOT-certified and has a classic double-D ring fastening system to keep your helmet secured to your head.

Design-wise, I think the helmet looks beautiful as a white motorcycle helmet, as almost the entire helmet is in white, down to the rubber linings around the base. Only the screws are in silver.

3. LS2 Blaze

LS2 is a Chinese motorcycle helmet company founded by Arthur Liao in 2007. The company is best known for helmets like the FF805 Thunder, FF353 Rapid, and the Subverter—the latter having over 35 ventilation ports, which is quite impressive for a helmet.

The Blaze is a dual-sport or adventure helmet. It takes inspiration from the MX dirt bike helmet and adds features that make it perfect for adventure riding.

Instead of the usual polycarbonate or fiber material for the shell, you get the Kinetic-Polymer Alloy (KPA), a proprietary material LS2 uses to ensure a strong, sturdy, yet light helmet. At 3.46 pounds (1.56KG), it is actually lighter than, say, Shoei’s X2 (3.99KG)

The Blaze is also well-certified, having passed DOT FMVSS 218 and ECE 22.05. It also comes with the creature comforts you would have expected from an adventure helmet: an inner sun visor, a pin lock mount, a removable peak, and more.

The Blaze looks very beautiful as a white motorcycle helmet. It somehow works well with the bike’s design—with only the LS2 logo and the bottom linings in black.

If you ride a bike with white graphics, say a BMW GS or an Africa Twin, I think you will look good with this helmet.

4. AGV K3

You may have recognized AGV helmets from all the MotoGP races you have watched. This Italian motorcycle helmet maker has been the helmet of choice for many top championship riders, from Kenny Roberts, Pol Espargaro to the legend himself – Valentino Rossi.

The AGV K3 is a more refined version of the K1 helmet with additional bells and whistles. This also means the K3 is closer in design and features to the Pista GP RR.

The helmet has features that make it safe and comfortable. The inside liners have been treated for fast sweat absorption and are removable for washing. The visors are pin-lock-ready and have a unique quick-release system.

Four intake and exhaust vents keep your head cool. The vents are also adjustable, allowing you to open or close them.

I have always liked how AGV contoured the helmet base to fit better to the shoulder profile, and you get this feature with the K3 too. The contour lessens the risk of a collarbone injury, if a car crash occurs.

I think the AGV K3 looks best as a white motorcycle helmet, especially when compared to other plain colored models. There are accents on the vents, with the red and green AGV logo adding some colors to the helmet.

5. HJC i100

You may be familiar with Korean cars and electronics, but here’s another Korean brand for you: HJC. Meaning ‘Hong Jin Crown’, this helmet manufacturer is known for making helmets that balance style, safety, and affordability.

The i100 is HJC’s take on modular helmets. It is designed for stability on high-speed and all-day riding. This helmet is on the heavier side, at 4.19 pounds (1.9 kg), but you get a lot more for the additional weight.

The chin bar flips up to 270°, which few modular helmets can do. As you pull the chin bar back, the face shield stays on, too, allowing you to turn the helmet into an open-face helmet.

The white motorcycle helmet also offers the creature comforts you expect from a modular helmet. The liners are removable and washable, and the helmet accommodates eyewear, speakers, and Bluetooth gear.

The HJC i100 is also DOT-approved, with a double-D ring chin strap. I found the helmet a little nosier, but modular helmets are, so I don’t think you should turn this issue into a dealbreaker. If things get too loud, there’s always earplugs.
